Today the subway was running on alternate tracks due to construction, so I had to take the train to a stop that was a bit far from where I wanted to go. Despite the fact that it was cold outside I was looking forward to the walk. I got off the train and realized that [...]

Yesterday, I was walking down Ocean Ave. and I heard something that sounded like a bunch of parrots. I looked up and low and behold there were a pair of squawking green parrots hanging from a wooden nest attached to an air conditioning unit on the 6th floor of an apartment building. I was stunned. [...]

This is a photoset from my recent trip to Santa Cruz Island in California. The set has loads of pictures of dolphins, mainly because, well there were loads of dolphins. Somewhere in the middle of the slideshow there are a bunch of photos with splashes all around, that was a huge dolphin feeding frenzy. The [...]

Getting a parking ticket sucks. If you have a car in a large city, chances are you have received at least one parking ticket (if not more). I’ve discovered a little loophole that won’t make parking tickets go away, but it will save you money. On the back of the parking ticket there is usually [...]

I found this taped to my door when I came home today. Apparently Notorious BIG lived in my building or one like it. I definitely won’t be calling to schedule a scouting appointment, but it is cool to think about my apartment on the big screen. “Hey remember that movie Notorious? You know the apartment [...]

I loved this story by Robin Bal over at the FortuneWatch blog: A man walked into a bank in New York City one day and asked for the loan officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Philippines on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan. Then the man handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produced the title and everything checked out The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank’s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the guy for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank’s underground garage and parked it there. Two weeks later, the guy returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest, which came to $15.41.The loan officer said, “Sir, we are very happy to have had and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled…. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow “$5,000?.The millionaire replied: “Where else in New York City can I park my car for $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return”Well thats how the rich stay rich, they know a lot more about Money Management…. Look after your cents and the Dollars will look after themselves.

Today a few friends and I were having a picnic in Prospect Park when we spotted a pure white squirrel running through the trees. Every other squirrel in the area was grey or brown. Not this one, see for yourself.
