Rare White Squirrel in Prospect Park Brooklyn

Today a few friends and I were having a picnic in Prospect Park when we spotted a pure white squirrel running through the trees. Every other squirrel in the area was grey or brown. Not this one, see for yourself.

Apparently there are a lot of other places that have white squirrels, there is even a music video about them. I wonder what the Punnett square for the white gene looks like?

      Nice pictures! I had never heard of white squirrels either. Here in Alexandria there are some black squirrels. The first time I saw one I thought “What in the world was that?” I did a web search and evidently there are quite a few black squirrels all over.

      I have never seen a white squirrel before. I have to go here and see if I can get a picture of one myself.

      I live in NC where we have a lot of white ones in Brevard, but those are more of a light tan color. I live about 2 hours from there, but last spring, I noticed a white squirrel in my yard. It was pure white. After searching on-line, I have decided this is not a brevard white squirrel. After spring was over, I did not see it anymore, but he came back this spring. He is so much fun to watch!!

      I’m in Canada and I’ve never seen a white squirrel, I suppose there must be some albino squirrels around but not around me. They look beautiful even if they are pests :)

      Recently we have spotted a white squirrel in our yard, it comes right up to our bird feeders, it is pure white with red/pink eyes. It is quite a sight.
